Checking 2 email accts within Outlook 2002

I am trying to set up Outlook 2002 on my WinXP desktop to
check email from 2 different accts (ie - comcast and
yahoo). I am having the following problem:

When I go to the Tools -> Email Accounts menu item, and
select create a new account, I am able to create a new
account. However, let's say that my Comcast acct is the
DEFAULT. What happens is that any mail which gets sent
to my yahoo acct, shows up in the inbox of the comcast
acct.

So, what i have done so far is, went back to tools->email
accounts to view or change existing accts. I created a
new outlook data file where it says "Deliver new email to
the following location". But it seems if you can not
select one data file for one acct and another data file
with another acct.

so, in summary, what is going on here is that if i select
the outlook data file associated with my comcast acct,
that file is used for my comcast AND my yahoo email accts.

so, can someone tell me what i am doing wrong, point me
to instructions on how to do this correctly?

please also send your reply to (e-mail address removed)

thanks!!!

as far as I know you can have 100 data file and one
default the email will ALWAYS go to the default. You might
have to create a rule to send it to a particular folder...

OK, I don't like the fact that I have to do it, but I did
set up rules to sort email based on the domain name of
the recipient's address (ie - comcast.net goes to floder
a and yahoo.com goes to folder b).

here is another issue, since i have 2 accounts, i have
duplicate sets of calendars, contacts, etc. can i
disable one set or totally remove one set? i tried
inserting an appt into one calendar to see if it would
get added to the other calendar...NO LUCK!!!

this is importnat to me becuz i am trying to have these 2
email accts sync with my HP IPAQ 4150 running PocketPC
2003.

thanks!

You cannot sync the items between the 2 .pst files unless you constantly
overwrite one or the other with the .pst file of choice.

As for synching, the iPAQ will only synch with the default account.

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the SWEN virus, all mail sent to my personal account will be deleted
without reading.

After searching google.groups.com and finding no answer, Fred asked:

Fred,
I don't know that I have the answer to your problem,
because when I did the same thing with my Hotmail account,
it separates the two. My default account with my ISP
company checks first, then I have to manually click the
Hotmail icon on the sidebar to view my Hotmail email.
Maybe you need to doublecheck that your incoming and
outgoing server addys are correct? I was wondering,
though, how you got your yahoo account to work with
Outlook 02? I'm trying to set up my Netscape email to be
checked by Outlook, but it won't successfully
connect...something about the Inbox Check For Messages
isn't accepted by imap.mail.netcenter.com (which is the
addy Netscape gives for its server). Any ideas?
Thanks!

Is this still true? I need to be able to have one email account set as the default on Outlook on the computer but sync my iPAQ with the other email account. Is there any way to do this?

(I don't know if this matters, but the iPAQ has Outlook 2002 and the computer will have Outlook 2007.)
