Chkdsk does not "lose" data - it merely collects and catalogs lost data.

Errors in the hard disks file allocation tables, that are corrected by
chkdsk, that result in, sometimes several, recovered
"File000*1/2/3/etc.chk," files, that are dropped into the root-directory by
chkdsk, (can't remember how many zero's in that filename there actually
are), are almost always recovered lost storage units that do not contain
important user data.

What is necessary, is to track down just what, in your machine, is
misbehaving, perhaps causing lock-ups, and causing damage to the integrity
of hard disk storage, which resulted in correction by chkdsk.

Using Windows Explorer look for files with a chk file extension:
http://filext.com/file-extension/chk

If you open these files you can see some of the data you have lost.
