Does anyone has any recommendations for a good program/spreadsheet that I can
use with Excel to balance my checkbook? .. I've searched the web but there
are lots & lots and I have no idea which way to go .. many thanks!

I don't mind doing that but would love to be able to find something that
would import my existing information .. is that possible?

Thanks for the reply Fred .. my existing information is online .. I see that
I can download it in spreadsheet format .. I'm just wondering though if I can
import it in to an existing spreadsheet if I do set up my own .. what should
have been simple has turned in to an all day project .. many thanks!! :) ..

That still doesn't give us a whole bunch of information. Are the
transactions online at your bank? If so, it's likely they will download a
CSV file. Once it's been downloaded, you would open the file in Excel. You
may be able to import it using the Tools menu, but it's something you would
have to experiment with. While it may be possible to import into an existing
spreadsheet, the most likely procedure is to download a new file, then you
copy the new transactions to your exisiting spreadsheet.

To do this from scratch will take some work. You might find it easier just
to purchase Quicken or Money if your bank supports downloading to one of
them. You can buy versions of these programs on Ebay for less than 50 bucks.

Regards,
Fred.
