I tried to run check disk and I receive an error message that states windows cannot load volumn and aborts the check disk. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi George,

Chkdsk on an active drive needs to be scheduled to occur on system reboot.
You cannot run the details disk checker on a drive that is in use (can't be
dismounted). Start/run cmd, run "chkdsk <drive>: /r" and follow the prompts
to schedule it. Then reboot.
