CHECK DISC ......????

Hi

I receive the following message everytime I try to scan my hard drive, can anybody tell me how I give myself exclusive rights please...........??

the check disc could not be performed because exclusive access to the drive could not be obtained

If you're trying to run chkdsk from a cmd prompt, it should say something like "do you want to run at startup". Say 'y' (for yes), re-boot, and chkdsk will run before W2K loads. At least this is what i do with chkdsk /f
