Check Boxes in a Template

The "Professional Fax" template in Word 2002 has
checkboxes in it. They do not act like the check boxes in
a form, e.g., you can't change their options, or shading.
How is this kind of check box created? I can't find
anything in the help system. Thanks.

It's not in the help system because it is a combination of things. It is a
combination of AutoText, macros, and MacroButton fields. If you go to File
=> New and create a new template based on the Professional Fax template you
should be able to access all three of these components.

I appreciate your reply. Although I can use a MacroButton
and display text; I don't know how to display a graphic
with a macrobutton, much less a check box outside of a
form. Help!
Sorry about the earlier double post; I didn't know which
was the more appropriate forum.

Examine the Fax template and you'll have your answers. Look at its AutoText
entries, its macros, and the macrobutton fields (which are inserted/changed
using the macros to insert the AutoText entries which contain macrobutton
fields.

That's why Charles told you to create a new template based on one of the fax
templates: such a template will already contain the needed MacroButton
fields, macros, and AutoText entries.
