check box with toolbox

I inserted several checkboxes to be used in a document to
be filled out and returned by e-mail. The user can only
check the box by using the design icon--but most are
unsure of that simple procedure. Then, if and when the
procedure is figured out and we receive their document,
the check does not print.

It sounds as if you're using an ActiveX check box instead of a check box
form field. Perhaps try the latter instead?

If the form is locked the checkbox requires a single click to check another
to uncheck
