chdsk error message

Whenever I try to run disk defragmenter, I get the
message "Run Chkdsk /f. I don't know how to do this and
the computer does run more slowly now. thanks

Pete, go to Start>Run type: Chkdsk /f You may get a message that it
can't run now and would you like it to run on
the next startup. Just type: y
