Chart labels at 90 degrees in chart do not correctly align

In PowerPoint I have created a chart that needed the X-axis labels to be
displayed at 90 degrees. When displayed however, they are not correctly
aligned to X-axis line .... no matter what I try (changing font, reinserting
labels), I cannot get them to align. Have had to put them on manually ....

Help

What are the labels? Are they dates? If they are dates, right-click your
chart area and click "Chart Options". On the "Axis" TAB click "Category".
If they aren't dates, try removing the tick marks so it doesn't appear as
though they are out of alignment. Right-click the labels on the x-axis and
click "Format Axis". Click the "Patterns" TAB and uncheck the option for
tick marks for the "Major Axis".

If neither of these are your problem, holler back with some more details.

Do you want them aligned against the axis? That would mean that they're
right-aligned (or top-aligned, if you want to look at it that way), and PPT
(well, MS Graph) just doesn't do this. Basically, Graph centers each axis
label according to *its own* center point -- they're not even consistent
across an axis, and it makes me nuts, too. It's one of the stupidest design
decisions I've ever seen, but we can't really blame the PPT developers for
it, as they didn't create MS Graph.

FWIW, it's a problem in bar charts also.

Only thing I know to do is add the labels manually (as you have) in
textboxes either in MS Graph or on the PPT slide itself.

Please take a few minutes to tell MS what you think about this non-feature.
With any luck, it will be corrected in future versions of MS Graph. Contact
Microsoft: Use MSWish to request features, report problems, etc.
