Updated or added every day are three files that appear in
my c:\Windows directory:
1. {00000000-00000000-00000013-00001102-
00000002080651102}.bak
2. {00000000-00000000-00000013-00001102-
00000002080651102}.CDF
and 3. 0.log

They range in size from 13 kb to 13,000 kb (both files
being equal)and the o.log file which is always empty.
They seem to be IE5 Channel files. They can be deleted,
only to be recreated the next time I open IE.

Anyone have any clues as to where they come from or how
to prevent them from recreating themselves?

Running XP home(latest), upgraded from 98se (bought
1/1/2000)and using IE6 (latest)

Thanks in advance for any suggestions,
John

Check for virus with latest definition table.

Rule out parasites.

This may be caused by a third-party program (adware, spyware, parasite).
Get AdAware and SpyBot and run them both. Keep them up to date.

If not the issues what is running at startup.

Run MSCONFIG under start/run applet and look in the Start Up tab.
Anything unusual?
