changing word strings in word document

I have created a document based upon hotels in certain areas, I now want to
duplicate this document many times over just changing the location the
document is reffering to. An example of this is the following sentence:

e.g. Are you looking for hotels in london? we have researched many hotels in
london to make your search easier.

Now from this sentence I would like to change London to Birmingham without
retyping, can this be done? and if so it would be greatly appeciated if you
could advise how?

Kind regards,

Cez Thomas.

You could use Find and Replace. Press Ctrl+H, or choose Edit - Replace from
the menu.

Find what: London
Replace with: Birmingham

Note. For some, you might need to be careful if some city names are also
contains inside other city named. For example, you don't want to end up with
Birminghamderry.

But... depending on exactly what you're doing, this approach strikes me as
inefficient. Instead, you could put your list of cities (and other variable
information) into a table (or an Excel spreadsheet, or something else to be
used as a database), and then use mail merge techniques to merge that list
with the letter. This would then produce one letter for each data record.
For more about how to do this, look for "mail merge" in Word's Help file.
