changing volume i.d in win 2000

Hi,

how would i go about changing my drive c:'s volume i.d and
where would i get the software to do that.

In Windows Explorer, right click the drive, click properties, and enter the
name of your choice.

Try this from sysinternals. I use their junction utility and I've no
problems with it at all.
