changing user profiles

I'm building XP pro pc's for a student computer lab. We have domains
for staff as well as faculty and use a security program called
deepfreeze on all student pc's. My question/problem is: Is there a way
to stop local profiles? Windows media player and all Office 2003 Suite
programs want to set up for each user. What deepfreeze does is returns
the pc to beginning configurations after each re-boot so the programs
want to set up each time someone wants to use them. Can I stop this?

I understand that the Microsoft Desktop Toolkit will perform similarly to
Deepfreeze but allow more configuration options. I think you could configure
the toolkit to allow applications to be configured for the user and then the
PC locked so that at reboot nothing would be saved but the configuration of
the applications would remain.

Thanks for the info but I'm stuck with deepfreeze. We're testing group
policies to "lock down" the pc's but that's still in the future.
