Changing the properties (size) of multiple photos

Glen

Hello,

I've received a doc file with about 100 photos that are the wrong aspect
ratio. I need to change the image size for all of the photos from 6 x 13 to
6 x 8.

Is there a simple way to do this without having to select and change all the
photos individually? Happy to use a macro if that is the only option.

Cheers,

Glen

Hi Glen,

If the photos are the wrong size, it's a bit easier than if you're actually referring to aspect ratio. Be sure to work on a copy of
the document in case of any mishaps :)

If the graphics are wrapped as 'inline with text' (black sizing handles when you select one in Word 2003) you can use Edit=>Find,
click on [Special] click on 'More' first if 'Special is not a visible button, and select 'Graphic' and turn on the check box for
[x] Highlight all options found in:
then click [Find All]. The find dialog should ay in small print how many items it has 'found'. With Find still open you can use

Format=>Picture=>Size
and after turning off the
[x] Lock Aspect Ratio
choice there
change the height/width choices as you need.
If you need to change the aspect ratio, calculate the ratio from what yhou are starting with in 'scale' to what you need to end up
with.

If the graphics are wrapped other than inline with text (white sizing handles when you select one), use
View=>Toolbars=>Drawing
then use
Tools=>Customize=>Commands
and from the drawing category drag the 'Select Multiple Objects choice to the drawing toolbar next to the 'select object' (white
arrow) icon already there and close the customize dialog.

Click on the 'Select multiple objects' icon and in the dialog box choose the 'picture' items, then you should be able to use the
same
Format=>Picture=>Size procedure as above.

Hi Bob,

I tried your suggestion but can't get it to work. After clicking [Find
All], the dialogue box returns the number of graphics found (137) but only
the last graphic is highlighted. This doesn't change when I close the
dialogue box. The images were in a table, which I converted to text but with
same results.

Images are definitely wrapped in line with text (I checked a handful anyway)

Thanks in advance,

Glen
