Changing the file type?

When I recieve emails with attachments, there sent as application/msword file
types. But after scanning and downloading my computer saves it in wordpad.
When it's saved in wordpad I can't access the links enclosed. How do I
change the file type when downloading an email?

Open Explorer, go to Tools -> Folder Options -> File Types, and find the
..doc file. Change it to open using Word. You do have MS Word, right?
