Changing summary options in PivotTables

Does anyone know if it is possible to go beyond the
canned summary options Excel offers within PivotTables
(sum, count, average, etc.)? I would like to use
PivotTables to generate statistical measures other than
average if possible.

You can't add to the default list of summary options available in a
pivot table. You could create calculated items or fields, or perform
calculations outside of the pivot table.
