Changing Registered Name

I have XP. In documents & settings, I have accounts for Administrator
and Emily. I have changed my logon information from Emily to
"Registerd User." The folder in D&S has not changed names, however,
and my name (Emily) appears in metadata and paths. I want to get rid
of Emily and have Registerd User instead.

How do I do that?
Do I need to edit the registry?

You cant change that. Even if you manage to do so, you will get in troubles so the
best option will be:
Create a new account > Name it as you like
Copy the settings/files from old account to new one then delete the old account
