Changing page files creates two

Recently migtrated everything from an xp media pc to an xp pro machine. I
used laplink but have reverted and then done a system restore.
The virtual memory tab says minimum recommended size 4989mb, if I let the
system manage it it stays at 3326.
If I try to increase the page file and then go into defrag there are two
seperate blocks of unmovable files. I log on as an administrator. If I try to
decrease the page file, the allocation stays the same after reboot, even
though it will say something like minimum 2 and maximum 2400 (pic a number
doesn't seem to matter)

So do I leave it alone? Or how do I change it if I want to and not get
seperate page file blocks on the machine?

At one point there were three blocks when I first transitioned over . At
that time defrag was leaving the disc 30% fragmented. Was getting horrible
performance, worried it'll happen again when I get in to work..

If you let Windows manage the size of the pagefile, then what you see as
minimum or maximum sizes are ignored.
In addition, regardless of any method of management, Windows only increases
the size of the pagefile if actually needed, and it
never decreases the size.

My understanding is that you can only delete a pagefile in safe mode.
