Changing Icons

I used to do this, but I forgot how. How would I change an icon (on my
desktop)?

Hi Barry,

Right-click on the current desktop icon, select Properties then Change Icon
button.

Many such programs do not have that option. Is there a program that does
this, or do I just have to live with those icons?

right click on desktop -> properties -> desktop tab -> customize desktop.
At this point you can customize those 6 or so odd ball desktop icons.
