Changing hard drive letter

D

Drumgod

All,

I have several boxes on my network that have the local
hard drive as E: instead of C:

Is there any tools out there that will allow me to change
the drive letter back to C: , I know that partition magic
has a drive letter mapper that will scan through the
registry and other files to change the drive letter. Is
there a freeware tool i could use to do this.

What about the disk management built into windows 2000. If
i change the drive letter there, how will that effect my
system?

TIA

Drum

If the system boots from E you cannot do that from Drive Manager. There is a long process on how it is done but believe me the first suggestion is the easier and safer.
