Changing font color on desktop

Hello. I'm sorry if this is a stupid question but I can't figure this one
out. My font color on the desktop is white. However, in my Advanced Display
Settings under Appearance, the desktop color is selected as blue. Even under
the Desktop tab, the background color is selected to blue. I have been unable
to change this font color to anything other than white. I have checked all of
my Appearance settings and don't have anything set for white. I have tried
changing the background image to various images (bmp, jpg, gif, etc.) to no
avail. Does anyone know how to change the font color on your desktop? Again,
none of my appearance settings are set as white, so I don't know where the
problem lies. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Not a stupid question, but possibly a stupid answer: you can't change
the colour. The font colour is either black or white and is set by
Windows evaluating the desktop colour. The colour is evaluated for
light/dark and then the font colour is set. This might work great if
you don't use a desktop image, but can be bad if you use a dark desktop
image and a light desktop colour as you wind up with a white font on a
light background.

Thank you for your response. I figured I was doing something wrong since I've
been trying to figure this out ever since we installed XP. No wonder I
couldn't fix the problem. I don't like the idea of having to run a program
every time I want my desktop font to be a different color. Just too much work
and not worth it. I appreciate knowing that there IS such a program though,
but it would be better for me if I didn't have to run it every time I wanted
my desktop font color to be other than what Windows chooses, which is all the
time. Thanks for your help though. At least now I know it's not an option I
even have to change.

Yes...

It was actually pretty silly of you to want to change the color of the font
on the desktop in the first place.

It's a trivial issue.
