Changing Folder Attributes

How can I change folder attributes in windows XP Professional? When I right click and go to properties, I uncheck the read only button and click okay. When I go to the folder properties again, the read only button is checked even though I unchecked it

I tried creating a new folder, and the read only button is automatically checked. Any suggestion on what I can do

Thats normal. The read only attribute is more or less meaningless in Win XP.
