Changing email accounts to send email

When I specify which e-mail account to use to send a message I get the
following error...Unable to complete the operation. A fatal error has occured
in outlook. Any suggestions on how to fix this. I am using Outlook 2003 and
my OS is XP Home. Thanks.
 
I assume that since a fatal error occurs, Outlook then proceeds to exit?
When you get the fatal error message, have you clicked the box to send an
error report to Microsoft?
