Changing default value in save as type box

Hi wondering if someone can help

When i archive my emails for future refrence i always go to file -> save as
and save the email as .msg file

is there any way to default the save as type to .msg instead of HTML or Text

many thanks
 
Outlook provides no way to set such a default.

This begs the question: why would you do this? Keeping the messages in
Outlook provides you with management capabilities you don't have by making
the messages external files.
