(I sincerely hope this does not post twice, as the forum told me my first post would not be able to submit).

Hi,

I'm having an incredibly annoying time trying to change the default language in Microsoft Word from American English to Canadian English. I have used the Office Language Settings program and also set English (Canadian) as the default language within Word itself, but all new documents automatically create using the English (U.S.) dictionary.

This is very, very frustrating!
I cannot understand why this (seemingly simple) process isn't working.
Ahhh.

Any help would be great.
Thanks.

Hi Eric

If you have tried everything in Word and on the Norma.dot itself, you may need to go to the Control Panel and Choose the Regional Settings option to ensure that the General tab has the language you require displayed there. Try that it just may work...

Word's default language settings are derived from the regional settings in
Windows. You need to change that to your local setting before you can hope
for the Word settings to stick.
