Changing column/row heading color when a cell in that column/row is selected

Christi

Anyone know how to change the color of a row heading and
column heading when a particular cell in that range in
selected. For example, the default color in the column
heading (A,B,C,D,etc.) is gray, as is the row numbers. I
have seen it where when a cell is chosen in a row or
column the respective number (for rows) or letters (for
columns) stay black, but the background changes colors.
It really makes it easy to see what row/column you are
on. I have Excel 2002. Please help!

Hi Christi!

I think what you want is:

Start > Settings > Control Panel > Display > Appearance
From Item: drop down select "Selected Item"
Select your colour
Apply
OK

But I like Chip Pearson's Rowliner Addin. Available from:

http://www.cpearson.com/excel/RowLiner.htm

Bookmark Chip's topic page while your there, it will be worth frequent
visits (although he hasn't put RowLiner in the Topic Index).
