How do I change bios settings on Windows XP ?

It will vary, depending on the PC manufacturer; XP doesn't control how
you get to the BIOS settings. When you boot the PC, before it gets to
the Windows XP startup screen, look for a message on the screen that
tells how to get to 'setup'. That will give you the key combination to
get into the bios setup.

If you still can't find the way into setup, try f10 or the delete key,
or f2. Otherwise, tell us who manufactured your PC - someone here may
know the correct combination for your PC.

You don't do it through XP. Watch the screen closely the next time you
boot. (Use the "Pause" key on the upper right of your keyboard to
freeze things for a moment. Press any key to start the process going
again.) Very early in the process a message should appear telling you
how to get into the BIOS setup routine. Sometimes you have to press
the Delete key, sometimes something else, depending on what BIOS is in
your machine.
