changing "always do the selected action" settings

I'm running XP Home Service Pack 2 and also using Windows Media Player 10...I
was ripping a CD to the library to make another copy when a prompt box came
up with several choices and at the bottom, a pre- checked off box that says
"Always Do The Selected Action". (I wish that damn box was left UN-CHECKED)
Anyway, the pre-selected action to take was "Always Rip CD To Libray When
Inserted" (another box that should be checked by the USER, not XP) and I was
distracted at the time and simply closed out the window but I failed to
uncheck the box(es) and now, everytime a put ANY pre-recorded CD in the
player, Windows Media Player immediately starts to rip it, which of course is
not what I wanted at all...how do I undo this change??? I found something
that I thought was it, either in Windows Media Player or the CD Drive
properties, I can't remember which, that said exactly the same thing, it had
a checked box next to "Rip Cd to Library when disc is inserted" or similar so
I unchecked that box, but of course, that didn't work,it still starts to rip
any CD I insert in the drive...and no, a reboot didn't cure it either....any
suggestions? I thought about deinstalling/reinstalling Windows Media player
but I'm not sure that would work since it seems like it was XP's doing, not
the media players.

You need to reassociated the file type with the program you want to execute
when a CD is inserted.

Go to Windows Explorer/Tools/Folder Options/File Types. Select the file type
and click Change". you'll see that dam window again with the option to
uncheck.
