I am having a problem changing a file to a txt extension.
I right click add .txt at the end and it doesn't work.
Stupid question I am sure but could someone help me with
this, I have XP Pro.
Thank You

go to folder options in control panel on the view tab take out check mark in
Hide extensions for know file types then you should be able to change ext..

First open Windows Exlorer, then go to the menu item Tools -> Folder
Options -> View Tab and remove the checkmark for the checkbox saying "Hide
extensions for known file types". Now browse to the folder where you have
the file that you want to rename and you will see the actual current
extension of the file. Select the file and press F2. Now, delete the last 3
characters after the dot (.) and put txt there.

It should work, if not, please let me know and I will try to find another
way.
