Changes to recurring meetings should only apply to the future

Could you please amend the way Outlook is managing the recurring meeting. I
believe that what is past is history and should not be changed. What should
be changed or deleted is the forward meetings whilst those entitiies that
have passed should not be touched i.e. the change / deleteion to the
recurrance should only apply into the future.

The problem is that a recurring event is not a collection of multiple
entries. It is a single entry in the calendar that is displayed on multiple
dates whose values are calculated. So, changing something in the event is
changing just one item no matter how many times it displays on the calendar,
unless you explicitly open just a single occurrence. I suspect it would
take a fairly significant modification of how the calendar operates to
provide this functionality.
