Hi,
I have a new 9800, installed the ati drivers after using a driver cleaner to
rid myself of Nvidia drivers and at every boot my screen resolution changes
back to 640x480. Anyone know a solution?

Thanks

Have you got the right monitor driver installed?

Yes, the correct monitor drivers are installed...tried every trick i know to
no avail...other driver sets...reinstalled mobo drivers, then ati
drivers...tried re-installed directx 9 and it still happens. Once i reset
resolution to 1024x768 it runs great, it just resizes everything at
boot...arrggghh!

My Memory usage was set to system cache, I changed it and VOILA! Thanks,
saved me alot of rebooting and hassle. Why would that setting have an
impact...hmmm.

Thanks JTS

I wish I knew. I had the same problem with a Radeon 9600. Changing that
setting was the only way mine would work right. I since have a 9800 Pro and
it doesn't seem to matter where I set the memory usage. Anyway, I don't
think the system cache setting (as opposed to the program setting) is of
real benefit unless you are running a server.

Glad the problem is resolved. It drove me nuts when it happened to me!!
