Changed video card, now no sound????

Just wondering if anyone has an idea as to what happened here...

A few days ago I removed an ATI Radio 9600 Pro and installed an eVGA NVidia
6600GT AGP video card. Since this time, the onboard sound has been flakey
and currently is not detected by the Device Mangler of XP Pro SP2 at all.

Mainboard is an Asus P4C800E-Dlx. Onboard sound was great until the video
card swap.

CMOS does have the onboard sound set for Enabled... Don't see anything else
that would affect it there.

Ideas?

Something here is mighty buggered up...

I can't see my 40 gig SATA D: drive either! (Doesn't appear at all in the
Disk Manager)

*sigh*

Hrm... I just love computers.

Reset the CMOS using the MB jumper and now everything seems to be back to
normal...

Next time make sure you install your sound card first and then install the
video card. It sounds like you have a video card that supports video
in-video out (VIVO). Those cards sound drivers often get confused with the
sound card drivers. I bet if you uninstalled the sound card and tried to
install it now after your video card, it will not work properly.

Don't think it's VIVO... Just SVideo out...(actually has a component video
out dongle)

The sound was working and then just vanished after a boot. No errors,
nothing detected.

It's all fine now though.
