As part of troubleshooting e-mails being dropped off of my roadrunnner ISP
server, I changed back to my original Outlook Express...only to discover that
I lost my original e-mails and some folders as well as my address book. I
was able to recover all but the address book. What file is the address book
stored in so I can recover it as well? thx

that won't solve any problems with your ISP - both Outlook and Outlook
Express are only email CLIENTS and as such, both just download mail from
your ISP. So unless you changed your ISP as well, it was a big waste of
time.....

.only to discover
that
I lost my original e-mails

Of course - they are sitting in your Outlook file....why would you expect
anything different?

Just open OE and do File-Import-mail/address book and follow the
instruction....

If you were using Outlook 2003 before then your addresses are still there -
in the Contacts folder......

Thank you for pointing that out. I did locate them in the contacts folder!
I accessed the help option to see how to copy the info in the contacts folder
to the address book, but it was not successful. Now, how do I reestablish
the data in the address book?

This is a common occurrence when moving things around -- the association
between the Contacts folder and the Outlook Address Book gets broken. To fix
it, go to Tools | E-mail accounts, select "View or change existing
directories or address books", and click Next. If you don't see the OAB in
the Directories and Address Books list, click the Back button, then select
"Add a new directory or address book", then "Additional Address Books", and
add the OAB. Then keep clicking Back until you get back to the first dialog
box, and go back to the Directories and Address Books list as you did earlier.

Once the OAB appears in the list, select it and then click Change to make
sure the Contacts folder(s) you want to display are listed. If any of them
aren't listed, you'll need to enable those Contacts folders as Outlook
Address Books by right clicking the folder, selecting Properties, clicking
the Outlook Address Book tab, and checking the "Show this folder as an E-mail
address book" box. Make sure you restart Outlook after making these changes.
