Change Volume Serial Number

Connah

Hi all! I've posted a couple of times already today. Please forgive me
but you all have been so helpful and I'd like to lean on your
intelligence once again.

I would like to change the volume serial number of a drive with VB6.
Can this be done and if so, do you have the code for it? I am aware
that it can be done with utilities such as VolumeID from Systernals
(http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysinternals/Utilities/
VolumeId.mspx) but I need to be able to control it myself from within
VB. Even a DLL (without the source) that I could instantiate and call
would work...though I prefer having the source of course.

Also, I would like to state that I am using this for my own personals
needs and I respectfully request I not be flamed for wanting to change
my user's Volume Serials on which other programs may rely, etc, etc as
that is not what I am doing. :) Also, I DO need to change the Volume
Serial for my project so suggestions of other methods besides this
will unfortunately not help me. Just covering the bases so as not to
watse your time. :)

Many thanks to all of you for your time and efforts!

Kindly,

Matthew
