Change User Names

I have a user who changed her last name, so we want to
change her login name (pjones became psmith). I prefer
not to create a whole new identity (new desktop, set up
all the software and links, etc.). Is there a way that I
can just change the name and have all of her old settings
remain? Or can I create a new identity and have the new
identity point to the "old" profile?
 
You can right click and rename her account, and can also go into its
properties and change the display name, logon account, etc.
