change to doc not saved! can I retrieve lost amendment?

I spent several hours amending a Word document, when I whent to close the doc
and pop up box asked if I wished to save changes I Clicked NO! Ahhhh. can I
retreive it from any where?

Hi,

The changes are probably lost if you did not save and the autosave setting
was not enabled (was it?). You can check your local user temp folder for any
remnant of the file in use while editing, generally they start with an ~$.
The temp folder is found here, and you might also check the folder that
contains the original file:

C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Local Settings\Temp
