Change the ODBC connection to read-only

I am creating a database wherein I need to bring in some tables from our
accounting system. These tables (customer, salesperson, inventory) are
updated on a regular basis so I would think that an ODBC link would be the
best option. However, they must be read-only so that we're not updating the
accounting system through the Access database. Is there a way to make the
ODBC linked tables read-only? How?

You need to have your DBA create a read only account for you. When you link
to the tables, use the read-only account and the tables will not be
updatable from Access.
