Change the newsgroup program under I.E.6 Internet Options

How do you change the newsgroup program in I.E.6 internet options to a
third party software program say Xnews, from OutLook Express?
E-mail can be changed to a number of other programs but the newsreader
doesn't seem to allow a change?
Using WinXP home SP 2

Thanks, but a pointer to using the "set Xnews as default" would also have
been just as handy.
