Change the inverted selection colour when selecting a text box

Hello,

When i select a text box, or item in Powerpoint the item gets highlighted in
a negative colour relative to the colour of text in the box. Sometimes this
negative colour makes the text difficult to read. Is there a way to change
the negative highlighting colour? I don't want to change the text or slide
background colour.

Thanks Barney

That "negative" highlighting color is a new thing, actually -- well, it was
introduced in PPT 2002, anyway.

Since that's been added, we don't get nearly as many questions about why
people can't see the text in a textbox when they click and type (because the
text color matches the background color).

Anyway, you obviously know about the background and text colors, because you
mention it in your question. But that "negative" highlight color cannot be
changed -- it's something that PPT determines based on the color of the
background and the text you've selected. (Sometimes that makes for really
nasty combinations, too!) Changing the text or background color is the only
way I know that you'd be able to force that highlight color to change.

That really doesnt make much sense, as I am using a light blue font on a
white background and I can see it just fine. Turning the select box a
different or contrasting color makes the entire process a nightmare when it
comes to making changes. If I can see it when I create it then I should be
able to see it when I edit it. Sounds more like a bug than anything else

Depends. Which version of PPT are you using? Barney, the original poster,
was using PPT 2002. It and 2003 work differently than PPT 2000 and 97.
