change starting page number

We have many Excel worksheets that will need to be added in between Word
files. One of the client's stipulations is that all pages submitted must have
ALL pages numbered consecutively. The starting document is a Word file.
Hypothetically, let's say it is 100 pages long before the first Excel pages
are to be inserted. How can I get the Excel footer to dispay page 101 and
then number all subsequent worksheet pages in sequence.

I know how to change the starting number of a Word file but not in Excel.
Also, is there a way I can put a starting number before the page number (to
act as a Chapter #)? Our Word files use chapter numbering and we want this
deliverable to be consistent, regardless of the file type.

I would appreciate any guidance.

One way in Excel 2003 is to look at
File > Page setup > Page > First page number >
and fill in the desired number there; in this case, 101.

One way in Excel 2003 is to look at
File > Page Setup > Header/Footer > Custom Footer >
and in the section of your choice put
22 - &[Page]
if 22 is the chapter number.
