I tried to post reg file but it said post is too long. The file
Mybackup.reg
has all the entries that I need and the changes you had me make. But when I
merge nothing happens to the REG. At least that I can see. The reg
location
unstall is still the same.

Got it. The problem is caused by missing braces:

For example, the following line:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall

should be:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall]

Repeat this for *all* the registry branches in the REG file.
