Change of homepage

I was bombarded by popups the other day and ever since then my homepage settings have been all over the place. If for whatever reason explorer can't display the selected homepage it automatically changes it to 'about:blank' but displays a generic search page. Clicking ont the home icon removes the search page but it still goes to 'about:blank'. I've looked in the registry and have fixed some things but this still doesn't overcome the problem.

This may be caused by a third-party program (adware, spyware, parasite).
Get AdAware and SpyBot and run them both. Keep them up to date.

I used Ad Aware which removed some little nasties but it didn't fix the problem, so i then used CWshredder and that worked a treat, its all good now.

Thanks
