Change link path disappears

Hi I hope someone can help.

I have a workbook which I have had to change the link addresses using
edit links. All appears fine with new workbooks showing in the link
address correctly. Link formulas all look fine.

Trouble comes when saving and on reopening the link workbooks (which
there were about 30) have all been replaced by a single location and the
formulas now only show =' '!K17 instead of the full pathname.

Please help what am I doing wrong!!!

Dear Don:

Can you provide more detail information as to what is in each cell and
how it is stored in the workbook and if you are referencing the cell
from another cell?
