Change IRQ for my modem

The check box for use automatic settings is set and
greyed out. I need to asign the modem from IRQ 22 to 10
or lower so I can update the firmware. I have a USR 5610B
modem and USR support says thier update software will not
recognize the modem if it installed on an IRQ greater
than 10.

This is not a problem because there is at least one IRQ
available (unused).

Is there some way I can get XP professional to ungrey the
check box?

You may have to go into your bios and
disable "automatically set IRQ" to manual or something
like that....Happy Holidays.

My Bios does not have such a setting. Any other
possibilities.
