Are you trying to change an icon on the desktop? Or are you trying to change
which icons do/don't appear on the desktop? There is no icon named "Desktop"
(that I know of) making this question tough to answer.

Hi,
I have tried to change the icon on the desktop. Its the QuickBooks icon.
When I do access is denied. It's no big thing, Right now it's showing the
dos icon.
- Click start
- Type explorer
- Right-click Windows Explorer when it appears under Programs
- Click Run As Administrator
- Click the up arrow next to "folders" on the left pane of the explorer
window
- Scroll up to the very top and click Desktop
Changing your desktop item icon from this "administrator" explorer window
should work

I would just delete the icon on the desktop then go to the folder with
the program and create a shortcut. The system will then tell you it
cannot create the shortcut in that folder and ask you if you want the
shortcut placed on the desktop.
