Change font in Outlook 2003 Navigation pane?

W. Gibbs

Hi:

The font that Outlook 2003 uses for the Navigation pane
is huge! I have two dozen email subfolders, and I'd like
to be able to see more than six of them in the navigation
pane. How can I change the font size and/or style?

Thanks!

I can see about 20 email folders in the NavPane. What's your screen
resolution? Are you using any accessibility features of Windows?

OK, so I'm exaggerating a little. I can see 23 folders in the "All
Mail Folders" section, which does not seem to be resizable (short of
removing buttons, which I don't want to do). My screen is set to
1600x1200, with "normal" font size. I don't use any accessibility
features.

Granted, 23 folders may be sufficient for many people. But as a
professional who uses email as my main form of communication with many
colleagues and clients and who needs to keep messages sorted into lots
of different project folders, I have many more than 23 folders. (About
50, spread across 3 email servers.)

In OL2002, the mail folder pane used one of the standard system fonts
as selected using the "Display Options" control panel. OL2003 doesn't
seem to respond to any fonts set via the control panel, however.
Perhaps I can find a registry value to change. Sure would be nice,
though, if the programmers would just add a font selector to the email
options dialog.

About the only thing I can suggest is to switch to Folder List view which at
least gets rid of the Favorite Folders section.

Am I gathering then that I can't change the font in the navigation pane, even in the registry?
