change default text size while composing and viewing e-mails

How does one change the default viewing size while composing and viewing
e-mails?

I am using a rather small screen, so I would like my fonts to be as large as
possible. I am able to make the text a good size by selecting view -> text
size -> largest.

I was wondering if there was a way to make this the default size so I do not
have to do it every time I open an e-mail

Mail Format.

Viewing is something different because it is the sender that controls it.

I haven't been able to find a way to make view > text size stick. (This
includes setting it in IE hoping that Outlook would know about it.)
