The ability to set a different global default form was introduced in Outlook
2000. In all versions, however, you can set the default form for a folder on
the Properties dialog for that folder. See http://www.outlookcode.com/d/newdefaultform.htm
It's a pity that Microsoft did not implement this feature before Outlook 2000. Exists a possibility by programming or another way for using a custom form as the default appointment form in Outlook 98 (COM-Add-INs, Exchange Server Agent, ...)

You wrote in your last message, that I can change the MessageClass value to use a different form. In my opinion I can do that only for existing items (for example with an Agent) and not for new items
I am searching for a solution, with which a user gets a custom appointment form, if he creates or opens an appointment --> similarly the registry key for outlook 2000
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\9.0\Outlook\Custom Forms\Compose]
I can't see your first message, because you didn't quote it in your latest.
I think we've already discussed all the available options, though. Your
choices in Outlook 98 are quite limited.
