Hi,,
XP PRO SP2

If I go to properties of display-> ...-> icons I only can change the font,
bold italicized items. No access to changing color of icons.
Normal ?

I would like to enhance the visual contrats of these icon names, because I
have changed the desktop

I thought I could change this earlier, but cannot find how.

TIA !

Unfortunately, this is one of those stupid graphic decisions that MS
made for XP and you can't select the Desktop icon font color. Possibly
you can do this with third-party theming apps like WindowBlinds.

Ok thanks ! No solution, but at least can stop searching !
Will take a look at windowblinds, but do not want to slow down system or
"over-investing" time on cosmetic features.

Thanks again

You are using the Classic mode?

Microsoft's interior decorators are a devious lot. You will find color settings in
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Colors. There is no setting specifically for icon titles
so that is likely to be under some other setting. Scan the list, find a similar color, and
change it if it's not available in the standard dialog. You need to reset the machine to
see the results if you change it in the registry. Quickest way would be to switch users
back to yourself.
