Change color of text after returning from a hyperllink.

I have upgraded to a new laptop which is using Powepoint 2003. In the old
laptop I had hyperlink files that when I returned to the original file the
hyperlink would change color indicating to the instructor and students this
item was already covered. This is not working in powerpoint 2003. The
change in color ocurrs only after going into edit mode. Do I need to change
something or is this a bug in ppt 2003?

Hi Ira,

I assume that you mean the color of the followed hyperlinks on the edit pane
view when using a dual monitor set-up. The followed hyperlinks on the
slideshow change immediately, but those on the editor window do not change
until the image is updated. So if the instructor where to change slides and
come back, the link would have changed colors.

You could force this primary monitor update using a VBA routine (with all
the limitations that implies), but otherwise I do not know of a solution.
Please take a moment to let MS know this is something that should be
changed/fixed in the next version of PowerPoint. Follow the suggestions
link on the web-interface.

Bill,
Thanks for the info. I checked out the web site you suggested and they had
plenty of information. Unfortunately it did not solve my problem. I'll try
to pass this on to microsoft as it appears to be a bug in 2003. In the mean
time I learned quite a bit from the tutorials at the various web sites you
sent me to.
